New Brunswick FIRST LEGO League teams had the opportunity to compete in their home province for the first time as Rothesay Netherwood School hosted the first New Brunswick qualifying event on November 29th. Teams that qualified from this event will be travelling to Acadia University to compete against teams from Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island at the Robot Programming Competition on February 15th, 2020.

Acadia Robotics as the regional partner for FIRST LEGO League has been working with Mary-Ellen Wilcox and Tammy Earle from Rothesay Netherwood School over the past two years to ensure New Brunswick teams could compete in their own province. Big plans for New Brunswick as this event was a huge success and we look forward to supporting New Brunswick as they grow.

Thanks to the teams who were able to join us on campus for a City Shaper programming event, we even worked in a halloween costume option! Time well spent by teams to work through new missions, and learning about programming the robot. We look forward to seeing these teams compete at their regional events next month. A big thanks to FIRST Canada and CANCODE for the support for this event!

Congrats to the team from West Hants Middle School that conquered the bridge mission today!

FIRST LEGO League teams came to Acadia University to launch the CITY SHAPER challenge! Two days of team engagement and literacy support for research projects and a chance for teams to see the new CITY SHAPER challenge set.
